Feist - Intuition (piano version)

Slightly drunk (actually, pretty drunk) and reblogging. Anyone wanna tell me why this song always solidifies how I feel about my life?

Hear highlights from the show, including performances by Feist, John Hiatt, Dawes, The Little Willies, Rhett Miller and more.

In case anyone was wondering, I got to see this beautiful woman perform Tuesday night in Dallas, and it was absolutely wonderful. Live Feist is as good as (if not better than) album Feist. Our seats we’re pretty far back, but after her first encore was over, most of the theatre emptied and my two pals and I moved up towards the front to take a look around. While we were venturing, she surprisingly came back onstage for a very intimate second encore and then proceeded to perform Intuition (AKA my favorite song). Gah, it was such a fabulous evening!

» Feist's Solitary Road to New Album "Metals"

“I feel like I’m on this solitary lifelong path,” she [Feist] said. “No matter who weaves in and out of your life, regardless of the quality of those deep friendships and familyships, I’m the only common denominator at this point who’s been with me the whole time. And there’s this sense of trying to make sense of that ultimate solitude. It’s not a negative or even a positive. It’s just a fact.”

“If you spend your entire life doing something, you should come up with resonating things that you know to be true,” Feist said. “You can just sing a ditty and not feel it. But when you feel a song, and you wrote it from a place that was honest — or was as honest as you were able to be at that moment — it keeps refreshing you.”
